1). Explain what a brand, logo, and slogan is?
Brand- A brand is a product, service or concept that is publicly distinguished from other products, services, or concepts so that it can be easily communicated and usually marketed. In other words, a brand is a definition of a company.

Slogan: A slogan is similar to a logo, but instead, a motto that represents the company. Slogans are memorable phrases in advertising, often linked to products and repeated across various media.

2). Find 4 logos you like and explain why you picked each one?
The reason I've picked this logo is because it looks interestingly appealing and I like the design of the logo. It looks pretty unique and eye-catching. That is the reason I've picked this logo.

I picked this logo because I like the red color of the font,
plus, it makes me feel like I want to drink some Coke, but not all the time, because it is unhealthy.

The reason I chose this logo is because of the name XBOX, and it has a ball with an X in the middle.
3). Can you explain the difference between a good logo and a bad logo?
(add tone/contrast)
A good logo has good satisfactory colours, simple and memorable, and has unique typography, timelessness, relevance, appropriateness, and balance.
A bad logo doesn't have half of the stuff that a good logo has. It is actually the opposite of what a good logo has, inconsistent size, shape, or alignment, confuses people. It may not match the brand or target audience, and it could be unsatisfying to the audience.
A). Difference between Primary and Secondary research, advantages and disadvantages of each.
The difference between primary research and qualitative research is that you have to talk to people and gather information about their point of view (POV), as well as gather their feedback to make a better product. The advantage of qualitative research is that it increases your confidence in talking to people, and it's a clear, specific type of research. However, this type of research can be very costly and time-consuming.
On the other hand, secondary research is useful also because it's fast, low-cost, and easy to find. You can do secondary research yourself using a computer and an internet connection. However, the disadvantage of secondary research is that it provides broader results than primary research, which offers more detailed, targeted data specific to research objectives.
So, for me, it is better to do both of them because it's quite easy and it provides teamwork. One does the primary research, one does the secondary research, and then combines your research all together (fuse it) to make one big research.
B). What do you think you would need to research to make an effective advert for a product?
To make an effective advert, you must research what people would want to buy, their tastes, their age, gender, and basically what the community wants or needs to have, and you must think outside of the box. For example, instead of thinking about what people would want to buy, think about what you would want to buy, and mix it up a little.
C). Primary research: what methods could you use for gathering relevant information?
Primary research involves gathering data that has not been collected before. Methods to collect it can include interviews, surveys, observations, or any type of research that you go out and collect yourself.
D). Difference between qualitative and quantitative research.
While both share the primary aim of knowledge acquisition, qualitative research is numeric and objective, seeking to answer questions like where or when. On the other hand, quantitative research is concerned with the subject and qualitative research is concerned with subjective phenomena that can't be numerically measured, like how different people experience grief.
E). Secondary research: What are some examples of what you could use as sources?
(give three reasons)
You could have a journal article that comments on or analyzes research.
1). The reason is because this could be useful to your research and it could make it easier if you prefer to research this way.
2). It could also be quicker for you if you don't have much time to do primary research and the deadline could be close.
3). It is useful to gather information more easily so you don't lose it.
You could have textbooks.
1). The reason is that, similar to a journal article, you won't lose the work that you gathered.
2). You won't forget the important information that you researched.
3). You can organize it with more ease and it won't be messed up.
F. What is a tagline in terms of research? What is the difference between a tagline and a slogan? What makes a great tagline?
A tagline is similar to a CV
Ideas for a product
I drew this logo that I had in mind, this is my logo called Velocity, I even made a slogan which is (run like you mean it). The point is that this is about automatic shoes that make you pretty fast and it is pretty helpful for when you need to get to work on time. The best part is that you can waste time and you don't have to wait for the bus or drive a car but you must be careful therefore, there are lots of moving vehicles but you can also go on where the people walk. You can even arrive on time for your lessons but use it wisely because the shoe can detect if you're doing something wrong, like breaking the law or doing something dangerous.
When I was creating this logo, it made me remember when I was in high school, and when they asked the class to create a new logo for the school they were impressed with what I created and went with it.
Functions of packaging
PROTECTION- To protect any product that is in the packaging be careful and not break any product. Protection from falls, elements, and dirt.
CONTAINMENT- To also contain products like foods and drinks so that these can be kept together e.g... A loaf of bread, to put it in the same place.
IDENTIFICATION- The packaging helps you identify a product.
TRANSPORTATION-
Talking Heads advert filming
Talking heads. This means the televised head and shoulders shot of a person talking.
It was quite difficult, however it went alright because we were doing step by step following the shots plan we made.
I think it went well, however. It was a little bit difficult as we needed to squeeze out of our comfort zone to make the filming and we had to retake some shots. The hard part was that some of the people on the team, (one of them was me) had to retake the shots but it's all part of learning so guess the best thing to do is to stand up, take i,t and keep on going. The shot that I was happy with was when everyone had to say Lemsip day and night.
In the end, it turned out pretty good because we worked as a team and got over it.
The three advertising structures are narrative, talking heads, and documentary.
Narrative- This type of advert features a story unfolding, the story will show one of the characters using the product/service. The story in the advert is intended to make you associate a certain feeling with the product and the brand. Some narratives and some are non-realistic.
Talking heads- This type of advert features at least one person who talks directly to the viewer. Often it will have multiple people talking. They introduce an issue or something that they wanted and how using the product/service helps. This type of advert shows a demonstration of the product being used. If it is a service being advertised, then it shows you how to use the service. Some talking head adverts can use comedy or catchphrases to hook in the viewer.
Documentary- This type of advert shows real-world events or an acted-out version of events - similar to a narrative.
2. What kind of advert were you asked to shoot?
I was asked to make a Lemsip advert.
How did you feel about this task?
I felt a little nervous but just because I got quite nervous didn't mean it would happen, I knew that it'd happen anyway and that I shouldn't back down now so I ignored my feelings and just got it over with and I was being honest, it was a fine experience that I faced. the footage came out unexpectedly, meaning that the footage was not what I imagined it to be, however, I'm grateful for what I got.
The shots that I am most satisfied with are the ones where Zaki and Jacob pass the Lemsip to each other while I am talking in the background and the ones where everybody gets to say Lemsip at the end of the video.
The shots that were easy to shoot were saying the lines lemsip day and night
The biggest issue we've faced were racing against time, it was quite difficult but then we still could complete it as a team at the end of the day, so that felt really good and relieving.
Rotoscoping experiment
Rotoscoping refers to when we add layers of animation on top of our video.
The main tools I used in the software were a brush tool, onion skin, keyframes, an eraser tool, and a loop.
When I look at the final outcome, I think it looks pretty good and I'm proud of what I made. I like the part where I need to draw a leach line that does different movements.
The part that I had difficulty with was trying to remember how to animate. I also had a few minutes to create a rotoscope, and then it suddenly came to me. I remembered how to make a new frame to create another movement, which also helped my brother out a lot by showing him how to add another frame.
The part of the process that I found most interesting was when I had to draw something into the advert because I had to add more detail to the video
when I think of the brand advert I'm going to make
This is my rotoscoping advert, I chose this video of myself talking about Lemsip.
SYNOPSIS
My advert is going to be a shoe advert. What I'm going to add in my video is fun background music, in my video,
For my advert, I'm going to put a character talking about velocity to another character. One character is going to sit down thinking, then suddenly the character that I'm going to use to talk about velocity will come out of nowhere and start talking about velocity and the benefits of the product.

I recently completed this final logo piece using Adobe Illustrator, which is also a Vector program. First off, I pasted my original drawing into Adobe Illustrator because before using Adobe Illustrator, I used an app on my phone to draw called Flipaclip. So, after I completed my drawing on Flipaclip, I took a screenshot and sent it to myself on Teams, then, I opened Adobe Illustrator and pasted it. Next step, for me to access the draw on my logo design, I've created a new layer so I could draw over my logo to have access to colour on it. After drawing over my logo, I've had an idea to make it look good like one of the professional vector logos that I saw in the internet. I used the bucket tool on my logo and filled the gaps that were there, but the way it turned out wasn't what I was expecting, at the same time, it looked good.
This is my package, which I don't remember which Adobe platform I used. However, I might have done it in Adobe Illustrator, I used the shape tool and went into some command to make it 3D, I don't really remember how I actually made it, in spite of that, I really enjoyed it and it gives me experience on how to use these types of softwares and apps, mainly Adobe apps which is great because it is one of the best vector programs, (I just found that out when I researched in google).
Logo evaluation
Some people have their own tastes in designs and art, so there are probably people who like the logo because of how I designed it, and for me it's suitable for my product because the product that I made is about shoes. That's also why I put a man running, but this shoe is not just any shoe, it's an automatic shoe that is only suitable for emergencies.
For example, if you're late, then Velocity (the name of my product) can get you there on time so you don't have to get fired from your job.
Overall, I enjoyed most of this experience but as well I've had some difficulties and challenges that I have to face against. The challenges that I went through was mainly about designing my logo, I used another app called 'Flipaclip' which is an animation app which is available on every device, laptop, tablet, phone ETC. Anyway, after drawing my logo, I screenshotted my logo and sent it to myself onto teams. Then, I copied and pasted into Adobe Illustrator, I tried to then design on it but it didn't work because it was a screenshot. That was the problem that was standing in front of me. So then, I made another layer and drew an outline of it so I could have access to add colour. After, I used bucket tool and chose the colour black then coloured my logo and it looked interesting.
Digital package evaluation
The package looks nice and blue, for me, this is pretty suitable for my product about shoes, but if I had more time, I would've made it more like a package that someone would want to buy. Not just a simple plain blue box with the only visible design it has, which is the logo. The software I used to make this package is Adobe Illustrator, which is also a vector program. The tools that I used were the square tool, and I pressed a command that makes the square 3D, then I used the colour tool, which was light blue.
Video advert evaluation
This is my video advert animation that I completed 50%. I used Adobe Animate to animate my advert and it went alright. I couldn't finish it in time because there wasn't much time to complete the way that I wanted to. However, if I'd had more time, then I would've completed it the way I want the advert to go.
I would make the drawing look better and more appealing and I would've added more details into it. However, I enjoyed animating my advert because it makes want to animate more in my free time. My goal is to become an animator and share my stories to the world and make people smile, well because most of the stories has fun moments, comedy and inspiration. I want to learn more about on how to make animation better. Anyway, I appreciated most of the experience.
